Acolytes
Being an Acolyte (or Server as it is called in some places) is a ministry of presence and servanthood. Acolytes are those who feel called to assist the clergy and laity of a congregation in the liturgies of the community gathered together to worship God. Being an Acolyte is a privilege that comes with many responsibilities. Acolytes walk in liturgical processions carrying torches, crosses, banners and thuribles; assist in preparing the altar for the Eucharist; and teach the congregation about the norms and customs of liturgical tradition.
The acolyte program is open to youth in 4th-12th grade. If you are interested in becoming an acolyte, please contact Stacey Olson at 612-870-7800, and she will put you in touch with our volunteer acolyte coordinator, Dave Counts.
