Founded in 1970, the Society is one of the oldest, continuous performing choral groups in the Twin Cities.
The Society presents musical masterpieces from Baroque to contemporary works with two major concerts each season, performed with orchestra and some of the Midwest’s finest soloists.

Membership in the Cathedral Choral Society is open to all singers who have a passion for performing the very finest in sacred choral music.

Cathedral Choristers
The Choristers provides an opportunity for children and teenagers to sing at Sunday services and special occasions. Singers are divided in two groups by age.

The Junior Choristers
(Grades 2 through 5) rehearse on Wednesdays from 5:45 to 6:15

The Cathedral Choristers
(Grades 6 through 12) rehearse on Wednesdays  from 6:15 to 7:00

During the regular calendar year (Fall through Spring), the Cathedral Choristers usually sing on the first Sunday of each month at the 9 a.m. service. The Junior Choristers sing on the third Sunday also at the 9 a.m. service. Both groups also sing on special holidays and occasions.

Go to the Rehearsal Calendar for more details.

The Cathedral Choristers Director, Harriet McCleary, is on the Music faculty at St. Olaf College. She uses the training scheme of the Royal School of Church Music.

The Small Singers
The Small Singers, ages 4-6, meet every Sunday, except in the summer, from 11-11:30 in Whipple Chapel. This group sings 3-4 times a year and enjoys valuable music learning activities. Parents may pick them up at 11:30 or, if you choose, your child will be brought into the 11:00 service at an appropriate time.
