Saint Mark’s Welcomes the Rev. Canon Mark Sutherland

We welcome the Rev. Canon Mark Sutherland as our guest preacher.  Canon Sutherland is Canon Pastor at Trinity Cathedral, Phoenix, AZ and a member of the Bishop’s Commission on Ministry.  He perceives his ministry of pastoral care to have a primary focus on healing.

 

Annual Meeting

10:00 a.m. [Cathedral Nave] - Come for a celebration of ministry with the Bishop - Vestry elections, and review Cathedral finances. Download a copy of the Annual Report and Nominee Information now.

Sunday School

10:00 a.m. -- Kindergarten – 5th Grade:  Our music continues.  You are again invited to bring an instrument, for our procession into the temple!   We will hear more about David and Psalm 95.  Plus, a bonus: we will watch the video of the Christmas Pageant! -- Preschool:  Bible story and activities in your regular classroom.

Jacob Cycle, or 'Much Ado About Everything!'

The cycle of stories about Jacob in Genesis is crucial for understanding the Hebrew Bible. In this narrative are nearly every manner of drama, melodrama, vaudeville, slapstick, promises, deceit, sibling rivalry, angels, death threats, dark nights of the soul, scoundrel - and these are just ones  in Jacob’s own clan! Saint Markan, Peter Sandstrom, M.Div., M. Th. will lead us through this lively and significant narrative.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

Tuesday, February 21st, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Lent is coming up sooner than you think. Historically, pancakes were a great way to use up all those rich foods forbidden during Lent: eggs, milk, butter, and sugar! Join your Cathedral family in indulging in a pancake feast with glazed ham, breakfast potatoes, hot fudge sundaes, and more. Kids are invited to help transform palms to ashes for use in Ash Wednesday services. Cost: $4: 12 & over, $2: kids, free: 3 & under. Please help us to plan wisely and sign up in the Parlor by Monday, February 20th.
