Planning a Cathedral Event
There are many types of events at cathedral. The first steps to getting your event underway are to reserve space on our cathedral schedule and to contact the Development Committee to ensure that all event approvals will be achieved.

Choral Evensong Memoir on a Refugee Journey Jesus Jargon: The Truth and Fiction in Christian Clichés Magnificat: Music by Bach Bach’s Birthday Bash 2010 MPR Broadcast Palm Sunday Discovery Series Dean’s Forum Easter Day The greatest high feast of the Church, as we celebrate the day of our Lord’s Resurrection, when the bonds of death and hell are broken, Easter Day carries the joy of the risen Christ. We continue to celebrate Christ’s resurrection. (Incense used at 11:00 a.m. service.) Easter Brunch and Children’s Activities Safe Church Training: Dean’s Forum The Romantic Life of Paul Downtown Coalition of Grief Support The Cathedral's annual Dickens Dinner fundraiser was held on December 5, 2009. It was a joyous event. While the final accounting is still being done, we will net over $30,000 for the Cathedral’s general fund and outreach programs. The program featured emcee Rev. Ian Punnett, readings from A Christmas Carol by Oliver Nicholson, and wonderful music throughout the evening by Canon Musician Ray Johnston, and a small group from the St. Mark’s Choir, including Kristi Bergland, Susan Melrose, Andrew Mogendorff and Kevin Shannon. Auctioneer Col. Larry Kroshus conducted a lively and fun auction. Check out photo highlights of the evening. Thank you so much to all who attended volunteered, and donated auction items! Local author Kao Kalia Yang will speak to the Friday Book Group about her much acclaimed memoir (The Late Homecomer), which follows a Hmong family from Laos to the refugee camps of Thailand to safety in Minnesota. Parishioners and guests are welcome.
Wednesdays, through Mar. 24th
Join us as we explore common spiritual advice in our culture. Simple soup supper from 6:00 p.m., followed by a talk and small group discussion. See the parlor bulletin board and sign up table for more information. [Childcare available for children 10 and under.]

Celebrate Bach’s birthday with two of his most acclaimed pieces! Conducted by Raymond Johnston, the Cathedral Choir and Orchestra perform the Magnificat in D and “Komm, Jesu, Komm.” Tickets may be purchased at the Cathedral Bookshop or at the door.

Safeguarding God’s Children

As a way to safe-guard for our children, St. Mark’s will be holding a safe church training session. This class is open to all, but is of special interest to anyone who works with children. Training is required for Teachers of children/youth, Vestry members, staff, and all others who interact or make decisions with/about children/youth on a regular basis. The Book of Revelation, sometimes called the Apocalypse, is so often misunderstood. The apocalyptic genre of literature claims to reveal hidden things and often appears in times of crisis. This book contains scary, horrible scenes, as well as many uplifting, beautiful ones; we’ll look at both.
